We would like to inform you about an important change due to the discontinuation of Autodesk Authentication v1 on April 30, 2024.
This change only applies when the environment is connecting to the Autodesk Cloud using the BIM viewer or the Connect for Forge platform app. If the environment is only connecting to Models stored within the local WebDAV, this change does not apply.
What will change?
Autodesk has announced that the authentication protocol v1 will be deprecated on April 30, 2024.
What does this mean for your Planon environment?
In order to use the BIM viewer, Planon connects to the Autodesk Cloud. Currently this connection process uses the OAuth2 v1 protocol to make this connection.
As of April 2024, Autodesk has decided to deprecate the OAuth2 v1 protocol, which will require our customers to use the OAuth2 v2 protocol instead.
This will require the BIM-Viewer to adopt these changes in functionality. Planon has updated the BIM viewer functionality to support the OAuth2 v2 protocol. This change will be present from the L99 release onwards. To be clear, this change has no impact on credentials, it is only an internal change of the API.
Therefore customers that use the BIM viewer need to upgrade to at least L99 before the end of April 2024 otherwise the BIM viewer will no longer work. The same holds for the Connect for Forge app. This app needs to be updated to at least version 1.2.5 before the end of April 2024.
